The day after we got home from Scotland, it snowed. Since it was Sunday, the kids got to go outside and enjoy it.
Jeffrey decided to rest in the snow.
He noticed Astrid coming to hit him, but only too late to defend himself.
Hugo ran to school to stay warm the next day.
The next day the snow was gone and the kids practiced good citizenry by removing dog poo from a stairway we walk up every day.
Hugo tried to race the train.
Sometimes the Germans get tired of their pretzel halfway through and leave it for the German birds to eat. It's the circle of life.
My car got a clutch appointment so I immediately called 8 different paint shops to see who could fix my hood. Two said they could.
Admiring some unique rural architecture on our day off.
Picking dandelions in light snow.
We visited a relatively local castle I'd somehow missed on the maps.
The history gets a bit hazy.
It looked like there had a been a wedding there the night before and it was a private castle. But it was open and nobody seemed to care we were wandering around. A nice lady came up and gave the kids cupcakes.
I told the kids a few hikes ago about how old Korean men like to do their own yodel, which is "Yaaaaah-hoh" and now our kids do that in the hills when we're out.
We were messing around on our deck area and this non-local bird came and shouted at us and we tried to feed it and be friends but it had other things to do.
The kids did the egg hunt thing but one of them was too cool and mature to be in the photo.
Took Jeffrey to a birthday party and visited an a riverside castle and area a few minutes away I've been meaning to see.
Our downstairs neighbor invited us to his birthday party and we got a nice photo with him. It was in a neat part of North Stuttgart at his old friend's restaurant.
We stopped at the park nearby because the kids were very well-behaved at the party and such things were promised if those conditions were met.
Stopped at the casino nearby for a covid test to get back into school after being "sick" for 3 days of school. Negative, of course, but we knew that.
Got those braces off after a whole year or so.
Got some money from granny in England and decided to invest it.
April in Stuttgart is the beginning of Schnecke season, which we love.
Went for a long walk and also saw this bird taking a bath. It was not happy to see humans.
It was walking in the long grass and eating what looked like small snakes.
Ended up walking through a bunch of the garden plots.
Keeping the birds away with accordion music.
Came back and they were playing outside, wild and carefree.
Dropped my green car off for hood paint and walked several miles to a train station to take me the rest of the way back.
This one seemed to be enjoying a cigarette.
This one, whatever was left on that foil.
We were supposed to have this date night in or around February but it got cancelled so when it was rescheduled to a Wednesday in April, we were annoyed but still needed the date night so we went with it. We were lucky to pick such a good Spanish place in our town for dinner.
The free covid test stations are still open around town.
We took a train downtown.
More poetry taking ad space in the metro. This one probably requires more local knowledge to translate. The literal translation doesn't make any sense.
We went to see Roisin Murphy.
Hugo and Jeffrey had dentist appointments Friday morning. No cavities between the two of them.
We dropped Huey off but the on the way to Jeffrey's school, realized it's really close the Porsche Museum and he hadn't been, so we fixed that.
Spotted someone with a similar mindset.
