Month started out with mom baking some more tasty treats.

A tour of Jeffrey's new school he'll be attending next year.

Trying one of the walkable Mexican restaurants. Not particularly impressed.

Had an afternoon off so we stopped at a bike shop we pass all the time to look at it.

Not sure about the story here.

Very intense suburban dad basketball faces for photographer Huey

Nice day so I sat out front for probably 30 minutes.

There's a secret park just to our south that has no play equipment, just a Madrone tree and a nice view.

Someone had never had poutine and I could not allow that to continue

This is her "I'm next to an interesting car" pose.

Took the kids to cars and coffee at Madrona Park.

Hiking with Annika doing an Issaquah tour

Issaquah doesn't really know what it wants to be but humorously enough, it has many denser neighborhoods than vast parts of Seattle proper.

You can see downtown Seattle and Bellevue from the park

Meanwhile in Charleston, fam converges

Bit of double armwrestling to prove superiority

Kids are gone so even more hiking, this time took a ferry to Vashon

We were joined this time by the delightful Whitney who was in town.

Here's a bike stuck in a tree you see on buzzfeed and other online rags.

Dinner at the Cuban/Venezuelan place down the street

Meanwhile in Charleston

Headed over to Grayland for some beach time. First of three times trips out to one of the docks for crabbing.

Quite a rough day at sea. Serious waves out a little ways.

Kids really will think it's a great idea to walk barefoot on the beach in 30 degree weather and some parents will let them.

Second trip to the crabbing spot, nothing big enough to keep, throwing a few smaller ones back in.

Taught this one how to have fun with fireworks many years ago, now he teaches my kids.

Let him try driving the antique

Third trip out, 7 or so large males between several traps. Good day crabbing!

He says "oh no, I am big enough to keep"

Meanwhile in Charleston, a little more grandkid therapy before its time to go
